19th Century French School Ink and Pastel Wash Pastoral Scene.

Taking cues from Mythology this scene depicts 3 Nymphs standing over a young cupid and his mother in the midst of the forest.
The young child seems to recoil from the apparition.
The scene is completed by a little herd of sheep who symbolize innocence.
This drawing typical of the 19th Century romantic school is done in Ink and pink and brown wash.

The drawing measures 10.5 inches large by 13.5 inches high
The frame measures 14.50 inches large by 19.75 inches high.
It was acquired in Toulon in March 2018.
