A charming Ormolu or Gilt Bronze Letter Scales or Letter Balance, decorated in the Louis XVI Style.
Featuring three putti and doves this lovely piece is in beautiful condition.

Originally done to weigh letters and determine the shipping cost, its purely decorative character is lovely.
The fact that it is still in working order and complete of all its parts is the cherry on the cake!

The gilding is intact and the crystal base is pristine.
A beautiful 19th century piece!
