Born in 1910 in Bruges, Belgium, to a prominent family, Jacques Geûens began his training as a painter at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bruges, then at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels, and finally at the National Institute of Fine Arts in Antwerp.
He passed away in 1991 in his hometown of Bruges.
Painting in a post-impressionist style, he specialized in still lifes and landscapes of Belgium and northern France, in which he excelled.
